Saturday’s 11-race programme at the track will feature the Grade I-Governor General’s Stakes for a Purse of $1.3 million over 2000 metres and the Native-Bred Restricted Allowance II Knutsford Park Cup over 1200 metres which offers a purse of $900,000.

The Governor General’s Stakes has attracted only five entrants and is slated as the eighth race on the card. Trainer Wayne DaCosta holds all the aces with three runners, headed by the Alfred Lee and Jeffrey Mordecai owned 8-year-old dark bay gelding, Perfect Neighbour with jockey Omar Walker in the saddle. Failed to get close in the None Such Sprint when 12L-7th to stable-mate She’s A Maneater last time out, he gets the perfect trip here, and looks all set to secure his third victory for the season.

His rivals will be stable-mates Hover Craft (Gary Richards) who bounced back to winning form on September 8 over the 1000 metres straight course, Dysfunctional with the leading rider Anthony Thomas doing the duties. Superluminal from the stables of Ian Parsard who chased home She’s A Maneater in the Prime Minister Stakes in his last effort back in August over today’s trip, has apprentice Javaneil Patterson aboard and he will make his presence felt. Completing the lineup will be Houdini’s Magic, from the barn of Anthony Nunes. He tasted success once from six attempts so far this season, and with jockey Wesley Henry  who was aboard for that victory, he could set off in front in this small field and prove hard to beg back.

Perfect Neighbour will be coming to run and must be giving the nod to take home the major slice of the pie.

The Knutsford Park Cup will see a strong field of 15-runners to face the starter, all in search of their second career victory. The Fitzroy Glispie trained JamalJames (Blue Pepsi Lodge – She’s Traditional) who ran a blinder on last when 2 1/2-2nd over 1100 metres in much stronger company with apprentice Natalie Berger aboard. Shane Ellis has been asked to do the duties this time around and with the trip ideal, he can go one better here.

Trainer Wayne DaCosta highly thought of filly Miss Formality (Traditional – Jamaican Dream), returns from a five months lay-off to do battle, has looked sweet at exercise. Will have regular partner Omar Walker doing the duties, the figure eight has been removed and the blinkers fitted. She could return with a bang.

Inform trainer Gary Subratie will be well represented by Nuclear Dan Dada (Nuclear Wayne – Full Force) with Gary Richards in the saddle, Elal (Silent Valour – Kam To The World) to be ridden by Robert Halledeen, Cherokee Way (Nuclear Wayne – Runaway Silver) with Aaron Chatrie up. Anthony Nunes has Apollo Bay (Performing Magic – Circle The Heart) with Dane Dawkins up, has had seven outings since releasing his maiden tag back in April and will once again make a bold attempt. Nunes also has Necromancer (Casual Trick – Eighteen Carat) with Dick Cardenas. Might once again come up short. Isinbayeva (Oneil Scott) has performed well in her two outings since being under the care of trainer Norman Smith and she can once again earn a share here..

Completing the field will be Dad’s Luck (Jerome Innis) from the barn of Patrick Chang, Miss Linda Wray (Chalrick Budhai) for trainer Errol Pottinger, Herecomestheboss (Paul Francis) from the stables of Fitzgerald Richards, Glitter Running (Delroy Beharie) for trainer Patrick Lynch, A She Soup (Charlton Riley) trained by Rowan Mathie, trainer Alford Brown’s Christilano (Oneil Mulling) having his first outing since been claimed back in July, and Anwar (Javaneil Patterson) for trainer Winston Morris.
